This is huge.
As was first reported by The Next Web, Facebook has added a native screen-sharing function to Facebook live.
If you use Facebook Live at all, you have likely used OBS or other similar applications to create a screen-share environment on a Facebook Live broadcast. This has worked sufficiently for a lot of users in the past and has allowed more flexibility for Facebook Live presentations, especially for those using the platform for more professional presentations or webinars.
But, for some users, OBS or other applications were clunky or made Facebook Live’s performance suffer.
Facebook has cut out the middle man and has added its own screen-sharing Feature.
This is a big development and will make doing more professional Facebook Lives even easier in the future.
Right now, the native Facebook screen-sharing function seems pretty barebones compared to OBS, but it’s a new feature, and I am sure Facebook will add more tools and features to it in the future.
For now, Facebook has simply made it easier for Facebook Live users to create a professional presentation on Facebook Live. Users like me are rejoicing.
